Who is the Great Depressionist?
The Depressionist. The Great Depressionist. You may call me either. You may be wondering where this name comes from, and why I have chosen to adopt it for myself. Let me tell you a story. So one day, I was wandering through the time-space continuum, exploring the meta-physical planes of reality which we so rarely come across in everyday life. Somewhere between the Dairy Queen at which I had eaten that day and the 1920′s, I came to the realization that societal trends are entirely cyclical. I chose to live among the people of the 1920′s for a few years figuring it was so much like my own that it didn’t particularly matter. There I set off on creating my own mark and my own legacy upon the past. On one particularly black Tuesday in October of 1929, I was driving a bit carelessly in my Model T, and crashed into the stock market, single-handedly causing the “Great Depression.” This is how I made my mark. In making my legacy, lets just say that I am probably your great-grandfather.
That is why I chose to adopt the title “The Great Depressionist.” It seemed quite fitting based upon my romp in the past. You may also be wondering how I got back to the future to chronicle the aforementioned romp. It’s quite simple. Effing Deloreans.
-Sincerely,
The Great Depressionist:
Dapifer of depressionism; master of manuscription; purveyor of parody.
